ISMAILIA CANAL

The Ismailia Canal, formally known as the Sweet Water Canal or the Fresh Water Canal was built at the same time as the Suez Canal in order to bring fresh water from the Nile river to the Canal Zone near the town of Ismailia and Lake Timsah. Circa 1870s
