Simply put, the vast majority of the historical prints and negatives on this website come from private collections, including my personal acquisitions. However, this does not mean that the collector who owns an original print or negative also owns the copyright. The copyright usually remains the property of the photographer and or the organization that commissioned the work until the copyright expires. Duration of copyright varies between countries. We do not always have the exact date that the images in our historical collection were created. However, if you are interested in publishing any of these images, please contact us for further information.
The copyright for the contemporary photographs on this website is owned by the photographer or the commissioning body. Reproduction of these works is illegal without the written consent of the copyright holder. If you are interested in using any of these images for any purpose, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
